About us

Brazos Tech Commons is a volunteer-run nonprofit that believes technology skills should be accessible to everyone.

Our mission

We close the digital skills gap in our region by offering free, practical workshops in community spaces such as libraries, schools, and recreation centers. Our learners include high-school students, career changers, small-business owners, and retirees.

Every workshop is designed around a hands-on project so that participants leave with something they built themselves.

Our story

  1. 2021 — Founded by four university students running weekend coding clubs.
  2. 2022 — Partnered with the public library to host monthly workshops.
  3. 2024 — Launched the Cloud Launchpad and Cyber Safety programs.
  4. 2026 — Passed 1,250 learners served across 12 partner schools.
